1. Is Grow Wild Retreats only for elopements, or can we renew our vows here?
Grow Wild Retreats offers both elopement packages and vow renewal ceremonies. Whether you're getting married for the first time or celebrating your years together, we will help you design a ceremony that’s both meaningful and intimate. For vow renewals, we can include a reflection on your journey and custom rituals that honor your growth together.
2. Can we have a non-traditional wedding ceremony, such as handfasting or a blessing of the elements?
Yes! We specialize in non-traditional ceremonies, and handfasting is a popular option for couples seeking a meaningful, symbolic ritual. You may also choose to include a blessing of the elements, unity rituals, or earth-based ceremonies to make your wedding day truly unique and reflective of your spiritual path.
3. Can we invite guests to our elopement or vow renewal ceremony?
While our focus is on intimate elopements, we can accommodate a small group of guests if desired. up to 12 guests if you are wanting a catered meal in our greenhouse. We aim to keep the ceremony sacred and personal, but we understand the importance of having loved ones nearby to witness your special moment.
4. When should we book our elopement?
We love off season elopements (anytime from October to June) which often is a less busy time of year and allows for more last minute bookings. Any booking in the summer, we suggest at least 8 weeks out to be sure your date is available.
5. What if we want hire other vendors?
Our packages include the most important aspects of the day, photography, witnesses, officiant, venue, food & drink, and flowers. We DO NOT include hair/makeup artists/decor/stationary/music. Because these vendors are often more of a personal preference, we leave it up to the couple to source them if they desire.
6. Can we add on more photography coverage?
Yes! If you would like more photography coverage we suggest booking our PLUS packages. These packages include a one night accommodation in the Borrow, Grow Wild Retreats Honeymoon suite. This means you have access to the property for much longer and can take advantage of the abundant creative and intimate moments that take place on your wedding day. From a steamy session, to a more documentary approach to the day, the sky is the limit

The Pop Up One
On particularly sacred days, we organize an exclusive pop up elopement experience at Grow WIld Retreats in Shawnigan Lake. Slots are limited to allow us to fully serve the couples that wish to participate in one of these days.

Our Process
01.
Select which package works best for your elopement dreams. And then book a consult call, and a site visit if thats requested.
02.
Once a non refundable retainer is paid, and you have signed contracts with all vendors, your date is booked! Once the planning stage begins, we will send you forms for applicable vendors and refer for further consultation if needed. Between booking and your date, any questions come through us.
03.
The day has come, and we along with your other vendors will be there to make your elopement dreams a reality.

Our Other Vendors
Otherwise known as “Rachel the Rainforest Reverend” is an ordained weddings celebrant. Rachel has a passion for nature based ceremonies and altars with a particular interest in officiating weddings in wild places. She is also a fine artist of classic west coast landscape paintings through her studio.
Kim, once a talented wedding photographer on Vancouver Island and Alberta, now a flower farmer and homesteader. She offers locally and sustainably grown flowers in bulk as well as arranged, making her a perfect vendor for intimate weddings and elopements
Adrienne has been lovingly tending to her families multigenerational homestead of 104 acres in west shawnigan lake for many years now. She hosts wellness retreats and workshops, and a select number of weddings, blending her love for food, slow intentional living, and generously sharing her land with the community.
